Meet the Clinician
Roxanne has completed a Bachelor of Social Work and is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers. Additionally, Roxanne holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She has called Sioux Lookout, ON, home for over 25 years!
Throughout her career, she has been employed in the areas of domestic and intimate partner violence, child protection, employment services, mental health and addictions, and has had an extended tenure as an instructor in the Social Service Worker and Native Child and Family Services Worker programs with Confederation College.
Roxanne has worked in both the nonprofit as well as public service sectors, in a hospital setting. Roxanne is passionate about lifelong learning and applies new knowledge to her work with clients.
Using a combination of practice models including but not limited to: Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Indigenous Healing, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Inner Child Work, Motivational Interviewing, SMART Recovery, Strengths and Empowerment Perspectives.
Some of the areas that Roxanne specializes in include but are not limited to: Addiction Recovery, ADHD/Autism/Neurodiversity, Anxiety, Depression, Domestic/ Intimate Partner Violence, Eating Disorders, Grief & Loss, Intergenerational Trauma, Life Skills Coaching, Male Survivors of Sexual Assault (MSSA), assisting with class action lawsuit applications for compensation, Parenting, PTSD, Relationships, Sexuality/Sexual Orientation, Self Harm/ Self-Injury, Stress, Residential School Survivors, Workplace Stress/Burnout.
In her free time, Roxanne enjoys playing the drums and spending time in the outdoors kayaking, swimming, and exploring nature with her beloved rescue dogs. Roxanne looks forward to meeting and getting to know you!
